I decided to join FabYOUlous fitness because of the type of classes offered and I knew I needed the small group environment to help motivate me. I was feeling very sluggish and had random aches and pains not caused by any injuries. I was steadily increasing my weight and becoming more frustrated with myself for allowing that to happen.
It has been 5 months since I joined. My specific goals were to improve my energy level, to improve my general fitness and to lose weight. So far, I have noticed a great increase in my energy level and my random aches and pains have completely disappeared. As yet I have not lost any weight but I have noticed a change in the shape of my body. I can see that my thighs and back side are more toned and a lot less jiggly. I have also noticed that my waist is starting to return. I am hoping that the lack of weight loss so far is an indicator that I was actually turning fat into heavier muscle. The next goal is to lose some of the excess weight around my middle. There have been non visual improvements also. My stress level has decreased immensely even though this year I have had to take on being the primary caregiver for my brother with Alzheimer's who is 15 years older than me and whom I have not seen in over 5 years.
The take away for me is, that feeling fit and strong is about so much more than looking thin.
