“It” is going to mean something different for everyone, but for many of our clients, “It” means feeling better and being able to do the things in life they want to do. In order to get “it,” they need to exercise consistently, even if that exercise isn’t always “perfect”.
We have these ideas in our heads about what exercise should look like. Sixty minutes of sweaty, butt-kicking cardio! Heavy lifting for 45 minutes. While there’s nothing wrong with that, not every workout has to look like that. My philosophy is this...some exercise is better than no exercise. 💪
Yesterday afternoon several of our clients encountered obstacles that could have derailed their workouts.
👉One client was stuck in traffic and ended up being 20 minutes late. She could have turned around and went home, but she didn't, we modified her workout and she was able to get in an amazing 20 minute workout that left her feeling much better than she did when she walked in.
👉The next client showed up after a long day at work. She normally works out in the morning, but had to switch her schedule around this week. She felt low on energy but powered through her workout and left feeling better than she did when she arrived.
👉Jillian was up next. She walked in and said she forgot her workout clothes. She had just gotten in from a business trip and her workout clothes were in her suitcase that she had just left at home. I asked if her jeans were stretchy and they were, so they would be perfect for a workout! I gave her a T-shirt and some shoes that were too big and we got down to work! It would have been so easy for her to turn around and go home, but she chose to work with what she had available and KILLED IT!
✅My point is this...none of these situations are ideal for exercise, but that's okay! Nothing is perfect. If you wait around for the perfect conditions you are going to be waiting for a long time. The question is...how bad do YOU want IT? 🌟
