Three years ago, Renee transitioned from a busy classroom teaching career to a more sedentary role working with caregivers and children in their homes—and quickly realized she needed a way to stay active and strong. Enter FabYOUlous Fitness! What started as a 6-week program turned into a lasting commitment to strength, confidence, and community. She loves the supportive, non-judgmental environment that makes working out something she looks forward to—and her word of the year, Stronger, says it all.
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote? Progress, not perfection.
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals? When I first started at FabYOUlous Fitness I was focused on losing weight. While that is still a goal of mine, I’m more focused on getting stronger and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals? I feel better overall when I get my workouts in.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us? Three years ago I left my classroom teaching job and transitioned to working with caregivers and children in their homes. I went from a job where I was moving around all day long to a much more sedentary job. I also entered my 40’s, which brought on new challenges. I was looking to start strength training, but didn’t know where to start. I came across the FabYOUlous Fitness website and decided to set up consultation with Kim. After speaking with her and learning more, I loved the idea of the small group training sessions so I started with the 6 week program and that turned into a membership.
Q: How has FabYOUlous Fitness made a difference in your life? I love the non judgmental, motivational atmosphere of FabYOUlous Fitness! Coming to class is something I look forward to and don’t dread, and that has helped me stay consistent. The coaching sessions with Kim also help keep me accountable for my goals.
Q: What is your “word” of the year?! Stronger.
Q. What made you decide to want to join FabYOUlous Fitness? I loved the idea of a gym just for women that would allow me to focus on my specific goals.
Q. What kinds of results have you achieved so far? Some results in the gym I have achieved are gaining strength and being able to lift heavier weights. Outside the gym, I’ve noticed improved energy levels and sleep along with better eating habits.
Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals? Just go for it! Your future self will thank you!
