Overview

A 5-part workshop with Empower Physio & Wellness (right here in the Westerville Wellness facility) series to build strength, improve posture, and move through work, sleep, parenting, and life with confidence.

Get Ready for The Power of Posture!

Your posture tells a story...not just about how you sit or stand, but about how you move, breathe, rest, work, parent, and live.

The Power of Posture is a 5-part workshop series designed to help you build strength, awareness, and resilience from the inside out.

In Foundations of Functional Posture (March 14th), you’ll discover what "optimal" posture truly is (and just as importantly, what it isn’t) while learning practical ways to support your body throughout your day.

Sweet Dreams & Supportive Sleep (March 18th) teaches you how nighttime positioning impacts pain, recovery, and how you feel when you wake up.

Ergo-Efficiency (April 11th) helps you easily optimize your workspace so you feel great (not wrecked) at the end of each work day.

Parent Strong (April 15th) equips you to meet the physical demands of caring for wiggly, headstrong, and growing children, from birth through the toddler years, with strength and confidence.

Lift Well for Real Life (May 20th) teaches you how to bend, carry, and load your body with confidence — so you move well in your workouts and in the everyday moments that demand strength.

This series isn’t about rigid rules or “perfect alignment.” It’s about practical strategies that reduce pain, improve energy, and help you feel strong in your real, everyday life.

Expect thoughtful instruction, hands-on coaching, and tools you can implement immediately so you leave each session feeling capable, grounded, and empowered.

This is a 5 part series, with a virtual option and recording sent out to all registrants. Even if you're unsure if you can attend live, still sign up and you'll receive the Zoom link and recording.

You can select individual workshop dates, or choose to attend the whole series.

Strong women aren’t born. They’re built.

If you’ve ever thought…

  • “I don’t want to get bulky.”
    • “Heavy lifting will hurt my back.”
    • “That squat rack looks intimidating.”
    • “I’m too old to lift heavy.”

This workshop is for you.

For years, women have been told to stick to light weights, endless cardio, and “toning.” Meanwhile, research — and real life — show that heavy strength training is one of the most powerful tools for fat loss, bone density, hormone health, metabolism, and long-term confidence.

It’s time to separate fear from fact.

What We’ll Cover

Myths vs. Reality

We’ll break down common fears like:

  • “Lifting heavy makes you bulky.”
  • “Heavy weights are dangerous.”
  • “Cardio is better for weight loss.”
  • “I’m too old to start.”

And we’ll show you what actually happens when women train with progressive strength.

The Real Benefits of Lifting Heavy

You’ll learn how heavy strength training:

  • Preserves and builds lean muscle
  • Improves bone density (critical for women 40+)
  • Boosts metabolism
  • Supports hormone balance
  • Improves confidence and resilience
  • Reduces injury risk when done correctly

This is especially important for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

Live Demonstration: The Big Lifts (Demystified)

We’ll walk you through:

  • Squat Rack Basics
  • Deadlifts (RDL vs. Sumo — what’s the difference and who should do which?)
  • Squats (Front, Back, Zercher — and why variety matters)
  • Bench Press (form, setup, and confidence under the bar)
  • Hand position, grip, and whether gloves are helpful

You’ll see proper form broken down step-by-step in a supportive, non-intimidating environment.

You do not have to participate physically — but you absolutely can if you’d like to try.

Open Q&A

Bring your questions.
Bring your skepticism.
Bring your curiosity.

We’ll answer:

  • How heavy is “heavy”?
  • How often should women lift?
  • What if I’ve had injuries?
  • What if I’ve never touched a barbell?
  • How do I know what’s safe for me?

Who This Is For

✔ Women 35+
✔ Women in perimenopause or menopause
✔ Women worried about osteoporosis
✔ Women who feel intimidated by the weight room
✔ Women who want to feel strong instead of fragile

What You’ll Leave With

  • Clarity instead of confusion
  • Confidence instead of fear
  • A realistic understanding of what heavy lifting does (and doesn’t do)
  • Practical knowledge you can apply immediately

You are not fragile.
You are not “too old.”
You are not meant to shrink.

You are meant to build.

Why Walking Might Be the Most Underrated Fitness Tool for Women 35+

You already know strength training matters. But what about the tool that works quietly in the background, supporting your bones, your metabolism, your nervous system, and your sanity?

We're talking about walking. And it may be doing more for your body than you realize.

Join us in April for a relaxed, engaging presentation where we'll unpack the real science behind why consistent walking is one of the most powerful things women can do for their health, especially as hormones begin to shift in their mid-30s and beyond.

What We'll Cover

Bone density and metabolic health — How regular walking supports two of the biggest concerns for women navigating perimenopause and beyond

The strength and walking connection — Why pairing resistance training with low-intensity movement improves recovery, endurance, and long-term resilience

Stress, cortisol, and fat loss — How outdoor walking helps regulate your nervous system and supports sustainable body composition changes

The consistency factor — Why steady, accessible movement builds the kind of rhythm that intensity alone rarely sustains

Community and accountability — The harder-to-measure piece that makes all the difference

This Is Not a Sales Pitch

This is a real conversation about building a movement practice that fits into your actual life, in Westerville, on familiar trails, at a pace that feels good.

We'll share what we've learned from years of hosting group walks at places like Inniswoods and Sharon Woods. Whether you've been curious about joining our walking group or you're simply looking to feel stronger and more energized without adding more stress to your plate, this evening is for you.

You'll leave with:

  • A clearer picture of how to use walking intentionally as a health tool
  • Practical ways to pair it with your current (or future) strength routine
  • An understanding of why walking may be the missing piece for so many women right now

When most people hear “physical therapy,” they picture a generic handout, 3x10 exercises, and someone in khakis watching the clock.

That’s not what we do.

At Empower Physio and Wellness, we practice Physical Therapy 2.0 — trauma-informed, resilience-focused, hope-infused care that treats you as a whole human, not a diagnosis.

This interactive workshop is for women who:

  • Have tried traditional PT and left feeling underwhelmed
  • Feel stiff, tight, or “off” but don’t have clear answers
  • Love strength training (or want to) but keep running into pain
  • Are navigating stress, perimenopause, or shifting energy levels
  • Are tired of piecing together their own health plan

You don’t have to live in a cycle of flare-ups, fear of movement, or feeling like your body is working against you.

We meet you where you are and help you build strength, confidence, and resilience from there.

Bring your questions.
Bring your skepticism.
Bring your curiosity.

Let’s redefine what physical therapy can be.
