Perimenopause and menopause bring powerful transitions—often accompanied by symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, fatigue, anxiety, and hormonal imbalance. This workshop offers an introduction to how acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) support women during this stage of life by restoring balance, calming the nervous system, and gently regulating hormones.

You’ll learn how acupuncture works, the common symptoms it can help address, and how this time-honored medicine supports whole-body wellness—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Whether you’re just beginning to notice changes or are well into menopause, this workshop is designed to educate, empower, and offer natural options for feeling more balanced, supported, and at ease in your body.

About Abra:

With a doctorate in nursing practice and a specialization as a women’s health nurse practitioner, Abra recognized the immense potential of integrating Western medicine with the time-honored wisdom of acupuncture and traditional Chinese Medicine. By embracing this holistic approach, she has incorporated both modalities for those seeking evidence-based care that optimizes successful health outcomes. In addition to acupuncture, Abra provides treatments using guasha, cupping, and reflexology.

Abra’s interest in acupuncture began over 20 years ago while in nursing school, when a personal injury was resolved only after following a friend’s suggestion to try acupuncture. Ultimately, it was acupuncture and cupping that provided the pain relief and return to normal functioning.

The Power of Posture is a 5-part workshop series designed to help you build strength, awareness, and resilience from the inside out.

In Foundations of Functional Posture (March 14th), you’ll discover what "optimal" posture truly is (and just as importantly, what it isn’t) while learning practical ways to support your body throughout your day.

Sweet Dreams & Supportive Sleep (March 18th) teaches you how nighttime positioning impacts pain, recovery, and how you feel when you wake up.

Ergo-Efficiency (April 11th) helps you easily optimize your workspace so you feel great (not wrecked) at the end of each work day.

Parent Strong (April 15th) equips you to meet the physical demands of caring for wiggly, headstrong, and growing children, from birth through the toddler years, with strength and confidence.

Lift Well for Real Life (May 20th) teaches you how to bend, carry, and load your body with confidence — so you move well in your workouts and in the everyday moments that demand strength.

This series isn’t about rigid rules or “perfect alignment.” It’s about practical strategies that reduce pain, improve energy, and help you feel strong in your real, everyday life.

Expect thoughtful instruction, hands-on coaching, and tools you can implement immediately so you leave each session feeling capable, grounded, and empowered.
