After retiring in December 2024, Kim made a powerful decision: to invest in her health, her happiness, and her future. Battling fatigue, health issues, and a feeling of being stuck, she found FabYOUlous Fitness — and everything started to change. Her journey reminds us that real progress isn't just about the numbers; it's about becoming a stronger, healthier version of yourself each day. Her story (and inspiring quote from Amy Morin) is one we know will motivate so many others!

"A meaningful quote to me is one from author Amy Morin - “The only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday”.  This one is tough for me as I’m constantly comparing myself to others or expecting more progress than is possible for myself.

I retired on December 6, 2024 and decided I needed to get physically fit.   I was constantly tired, eating terribly, out of shape, over weight, and had acid reflux and bowel issues that plagued me. I also had urinary leaks, and my cholesterol numbers  (both HDL and LDL) were not good.  I also have a granddaughter and getting on the floor playing with her was difficult.  I belonged to a “box store” gym but wasn’t sure how to use the equipment there. To get started on my journey I knew I was going to need some personal advice, encouragement, and camaraderie.  I found FabYOUlous Fitness on social media and tried one of the “get to know you” sessions and it opened up a whole world of fitness training and opportunities I had no idea existed.  The trainers were helpful and the other students were welcoming and I knew I had found a place where I could be successful.

My “results” (so far)
I started out lifting 3-5 pound dumbbells and now can lift 10-20 pounds.  I no longer have bowel issues and the urinary leaks are just about gone!  Clothes that I wore 5 years ago now fit and in some cases are slightly large.  I have lost 22 pounds and over 13 inches.  I can get on the floor with my granddaughter and feel like I can be there for more than 15 minutes!

My goals (next three months)
1) Be able to stand up from a chair with one leg raised.
2) Be able to do 10 pushups (on the floor, not using TRX, not on knees)
3) Be able to sit with legs out while stretched and hips folded with elbows to floor"
