I joined FabYOUlous Fitness a few months ago because I wanted to ramp up my workouts to get stronger and healthier, and to feel better in my own skin. I was looking for a women-only studio when you and I connected; it was love at first sight! I’m taking your advice to work on one habit at a time. The first one was to dedicate myself to the workouts – to make time and show up and to do it for me. I’ve done pretty well with that (loving the results, so far) so my new habit I want to work on is getting more and better sleep. Not easy when work and school keep me so busy!
The one thing that keeps me focused is knowing how I feel after a workout – it’s the best feeling (even though I’m a hot, sweaty mess). And then seeing and feeling the results. I am so appreciative of the support, the people I’ve met, and most of all being part of a community of strong women.
You asked me what my favorite inspirational quote is. There are so many but the one I keep coming back to in my life is “Savor the Berry.” I can’t remember where I first saw this, but it spoke to me…and still does more than 20 years later. It reminds me to slow down, breathe, give thanks for those in my life, be kind to myself, and to savor every moment of every day. Being part of the FabYOUlous Fitness community has helped to re-ground me on this. Not only am I exercising regularly but I am also taking important mental breaks to meditate. What a difference this has made in my life!
