Client Spotlight: Tracy: Rebuilding Strength, One Step at a Time

When life transitions brought unexpected challenges—low energy, stalled results, and a loss of motivation—this FabYOUlous client didn’t give up. Instead, she chose to pivot. What started as a simple Facebook ad turned into a transformative journey of strength, resilience, and renewed confidence. With support from her trainers and community, she’s not only overcome physical setbacks but discovered what’s truly possible with a program built for women navigating midlife. Here’s her story—in her own words.

"My journey with FabYOUlous Fitness began last summer. I have always been someone who enjoys fitness, but the past few years I really struggled with energy and self-motivation due to perimenopause. I was not seeing the results I wanted with the type of workouts I was doing. I saw an ad on Facebook for FabYOUlous Fitness and set up a meet and greet with Kim and from that point my new journey began.

My personal health and fitness goals have always been to lose weight, look thinner and get stronger. I saw an opportunity to challenge myself in a way I had never done before and to learn from experienced trainers on how to get the results I was striving to achieve. The FabYOUlous Fitness team has kept me motivated to work out each week through strength classes. I love that the workouts are built for a woman my age to learn how to strengthen the muscles that are necessary for everyday life. The trainers are motivating and encouraging and when they see a difference in your strength or muscle tone, they make it a point to compliment you and challenge you to keep working harder.

One thing I have learned about my journey with FabYOUlous Fitness, is that even when something brings you down and holds you back from achieving your goals, giving up is not an option. After I joined FabYOUlous Fitness last summer, I was doing well with my classes and increasing the weight I was lifting. I began feeling confident in my strength training classes and goals that I set with Kim. Then last fall I began experiencing nerve pain in my left arm that limited my ability to lift anything. I was having a lot of radiating pain and not sleeping well. I thought I was going to have to take a break from working out to heal, but Kim connected me with Dr. Lydia Hougland who was a life saver in providing me with physical therapy. Kim and Dr. Lydia communicated my struggles and limitations with all the trainers and I was able to continue taking strength training classes by modifying my workouts. The word I would choose at that point to describe my journey was confidence. I have never had so many women in my corner encouraging, supporting and educating me on how to build myself back up. I felt like I went backwards in my journey, but my FabYOUlous Fitness team helped give me the confidence I needed to get me back onto my path.

Today, I can say that I am a lot stronger than I was a year ago. Last year, my daughter and I went on a girls trip and I really struggled to keep up with her during our nature hikes and tours. This year, on our second girls trip, I was able to climb huge boulder rocks and walk long distances without being out of breath. Even though I have not met my other goals yet, I am encouraged by knowing that I have a wonderful team who has my back and will keep motivating me to move forward. If I was speaking to someone looking to make a change, I would tell them that change comes from within you through the belief that you have the ability to change. I am the poster child of someone who hates change. It actually paralyzes me from making better choices for myself. When I first was introduced to FabYOUlous fitness, I was afraid of failing and not being able to do the exercises instructed by the trainers. I like to remind myself every day of what Theodore Roosevelt said, ‘Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.’ I had to first start with what limited abilities I had, in order to get to where I am today."
